Bears report: TE Colston Loveland good to go vs. Seahawks despite neck injury

What happened Saturday at Halas Hall:

Loveland doing fine
Bears tight end Colston Loveland was back Saturday after missing part of practice Friday because of what he called a “little tweak” in his neck while weightlifting. He will play Monday against the Seahawks and said, “I’m good. I don’t even know why it’s a thing.”

Benedet sticks
Theo Benedet is playing well enough at left tackle to keep Ozzy Trapilo on a limited workload. Coach Ben Johnson said Benedet will make his fifth consecutive start Monday against the Seahawks.

Trapilo was a second-round pick last year and took over the starting job in November. The Bears are taking it slowly with him coming off a major knee injury, and he played 36 snaps offensively over the last two games, plus another 13 on special teams.

Controversial footwear
As the fines escalate for quarterback Caleb Williams wearing Caddix cleats, there’s a possibility the NFL could bar him from playing in them unless he covers the logo. Section 4 of the rulebook allows for officials to enforce that, but Johnson was confident Williams would find a way to avoid anything that would hurt the team. He wore all-white Caddix cleats in the first two games and wasn’t penalized.

Monangai delayed
The Bears initially didn’t deem it necessary to put No. 2 running back Kyle Monangai on injured reserve after he hurt his toe Oct. 4, but he’ll miss his fourth game anyway. Johnson couldn’t say whether he’s progressing enough to potentially return next week against the Buccaneers.

Johnson hinted that, in addition to D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson, former practice-squad running back Zavier Scott could play on offense for the first time.

Green light
Seahawks running backs Jadarian Price and Zach Charbonnet were cleared from their injuries and are expected to play Monday.
