The adapter is aimed at users who move large files between their computer and network storage, including video editors working with shared projects. For MacBook users, it provides a fast wired connection without carrying a dock or power brick.

Thunderbolt 5 is the update here. Sonnet's earlier Solo10G already offered bus-powered, fanless 10Gb Ethernet through Thunderbolt 3.
