SAG-AFTRA, or the Screen Actors Guild — American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, is a labor union of media personnel. The 2023 strike occurred because writers and actors lacked proper and ethical compensation. The Writers Guild was able to resolve the dispute first. Albeit this, they are still supporting the other unions. The strike quickly trickled down to the video game industry. Like the writers and actors, workers in the video game industry asked for proper wages. The use of AI, in particular, is a big issue for voice actors. Those employed in the video game industry also receive little to no residuals.
